Invite people to a room

You can invite people to a room at any time. They receive a notification and the room appears in their sidebar.

Before you start

• You are a member of the room, or its moderator.

Steps

1. Open the room.
2. In the room header, select Invite.
3. The room’s Invite panel opens. Under Search the directory, type a colleague’s name or email and select them; or enter an address under JID to invite if the person is outside your directory.
4. Optionally, add a Reason.
5. Select Send invite.

Result

The invited people become members of the room. Existing members see a notice in the conversation, and the room appears in each new member’s sidebar.
