Sign-in, sign-out and offline

You sign in once at the launchpad. From then on every product opens already signed in — VNCdirectory included — because they share the same session. When you open VNCdirectory from the launchpad it reuses your session silently; you do not get a second sign-in prompt.

If you open the console directly and are not yet signed in, select Log in and complete the single sign-on flow. If single sign-on is not configured for the cell, Log in is disabled and you reach the console through the launchpad.

Sign out from your account menu (the avatar in the top-right rail — the directory keeps sign-out there, not as a separate button). The menu offers:

  • Sign out — ends your session on this device.
  • Sign out everywhere — ends your session on every device and browser at once. Use it when you lose a device or suspect a session is shared.

The account menu’s security pane lists your active sessions. You can revoke any one of them without affecting the others — for example, to close a session you no longer recognise.

VNCdirectory is an installable web app. From your browser use Install app (or the equivalent in your browser’s menu) to add it to your device.

The app is backed by an offline app shell: a service worker caches the static shell of the app so it opens instantly and shows a friendly page if you are offline. It never caches your signed-in pages or data — those always come from the live service, so nothing private is stored on the device by the cache. When you lose connectivity you see an offline page with Try again, and the app reconnects automatically when you are back online.
