VNCgroupware
VNCgroupware is not a separate application — it is the bundle that turns four products into one groupware proposition:
- VNCmail — email
- The calendar in VNCmail — calendars, appointments and resource booking
- VNCcontacts — address books, companies and consent
- VNCfiles — the shared file core, briefcase and attachments
Under one name, one licence and one sign-in, that is the complete classical groupware stack most organizations actually need — mail, calendar, contacts and files — without importing a proprietary collaboration platform with its own directory, its own cloud and its own terms.
What it delivers
Section titled “What it delivers”- One deployment instead of four. The four products share identity, storage and policy, so there is one place to provision, back up and audit.
- One user experience. The mail app carries Calendar, Contacts and Files in its rail; a user moves between mail, a meeting, a contact and a file without switching products or signing in again.
- One procurement. A single bundle line instead of four product lines, with the modules still individually attributable.
- A predictable migration target. All four modules use open standards (JMAP, CalDAV, CardDAV, WebDAV), so an existing mail or groupware system can be replaced without a proprietary lock-in.
What is in the bundle
Section titled “What is in the bundle”| Module | Role in the bundle |
|---|---|
| VNCmail | The mailbox: read, compose, filters, search, S/MIME; carries the other three modules in its navigation. |
| Calendars in VNCmail | Appointments, invitations and RSVPs, free/busy, recurrence, resource booking, tasks. |
| VNCcontacts | Address books for the organization and for external contacts, with consent and duplicate hygiene. |
| VNCfiles | Files, folders, attachments and the briefcase, with one permission model and governance. |
Typical use
Section titled “Typical use”- An organization replaces a hosted mail and calendar service in one step and keeps mail, calendars, contacts and shared files together.
- A team opens a meeting invitation from mail, sees the attendee’s contact card and the attached agenda from the file store — in the same session.
- An administrator provisions new employees from the directory; mailbox, calendar, address book and file space are available at first sign-in.
How it fits the suite
Section titled “How it fits the suite”- The four modules are also available individually; the bundle is the packaging.
- VNCdirectory and VNCportal provide identity and sign-in.
- VNCchat und VNCvideo and VNCchannels cover real-time communication; the groupware covers mail, calendar, contacts and files.
- VNClagoon AI adds summaries and drafting across the bundle.
