VNCmail is the enterprise email of the suite — and deliberately more than a
mailbox. It is a complete mail suite: email, calendar and contacts in one
application, delivered on web, desktop and mobile, and backed by a mail server
your organization runs itself.
The design goal is that a mail client is no longer the weakest link in a
sovereign workplace. Mail content, attachments, address books and calendars all
live in your perimeter, and the assistant that reads them follows your AI policy
instead of sending the inbox to a public provider.
- A complete suite, not just an inbox. Reading and writing mail, keeping the
calendar and managing contacts happens in one app with one search.
- Cross-platform. Web, installed desktop app and mobile, with the same
mailbox and the same settings.
- Open standards end to end. Mail is accessed over JMAP, contacts over CardDAV
and vCard, calendars over CalDAV and iCalendar, filters as Sieve scripts. You
are not locked into a proprietary sync protocol.
- A sovereign AI assistant. Summaries, drafting and search run under your
organization’s policy — local, private, or approved public.
- Enterprise hygiene. SPF, DKIM and DMARC indicators, external-content
blocking, S/MIME signing and encryption, two-factor authentication.

- S/MIME — manage certificates, then sign, encrypt, decrypt and verify.
- Sender authentication — SPF, DKIM and DMARC indicators on every message.
- External content — blocked until you allow it; trusted senders remembered.
- Single sign-on — OAuth2/OIDC with PKCE, with an OAuth-only mode.
- Two-factor authentication — TOTP.
- Admin policy — control the unified mailbox and cross-account capability
organization-wide; branding, themes and plugins are administered centrally.
- Mobile and desktop — installable as an app, with web push for new mail.
- An employee works from the unified mailbox, switches between a personal and
a shared team inbox, and sees the team’s unread counts in the same view.
- A team schedules a recurring meeting in the calendar, invites participants
and books a room; a colleague RSVPs straight from the invitation in their mail.
- An assistant summarizes a long thread and drafts a reply under the
organization’s AI policy, without the mail leaving the perimeter.
- An administrator enforces external-content blocking, S/MIME and
organization-wide mailbox policy from one dashboard.
- VNCgroupware bundles VNCmail (with its calendar) with VNCcontacts and VNCfiles.
- The calendar and VNCcontacts are the scheduling and address-book parts;
VNCmail embeds them.
- VNCcontacts is the address book of record for external contacts; VNCmail
reads contacts from it.
- VNCfiles holds attachments and the briefcase.
- VNClagoon AI and the product assistant provide the sovereign AI features.
- VNCportal provides the single sign-in.
| Role |
What they do |
| End user |
Mail, calendar, contacts, filters and signatures. |
| Team lead |
Manage shared and delegated mailboxes and calendars. |
| Administrator |
Provision the mail server, set policy, branding and plugins. |
Mail, attachments, calendars and contacts are stored on your organization’s mail
infrastructure. Access uses open standards (JMAP, CalDAV, CardDAV), so data can be
moved without a proprietary migration. AI requests follow the organization’s
policy and can be kept entirely local.
